Invitation to our second Centre for Professional Excellence Event of 2022: Introduction to Managing Fraud Risk in Banking.

Technology plays a key role in modern banking, with the protection of data having overtaken the protection of cash in risk management priorities.  Have you ever wondered how banks keep one step ahead of the cyber criminals, and what tools and techniques they use to do this? Well, here’s your chance to find out. This ‘Introduction To…’ session explores how cyber and online fraud is managed on a day-to-day basis.

This lecture is vital for anyone interested in risk management in the financial sector or wishing to pursue a career in the ever-expanding world of Fraud and Financial Crime.

The session will specifically look at:

  • The current key areas of fraud prevention that banks are focused on
  • ‘Money Mules’ and how to spot them
  • The role of biometrics in protecting customers.

This is a joint event with the Chartered Banker Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University and ICAEW North West.
